Random (And I Mean Really Random!) Thoughts on a Sunday Afternoon!

My mind is going in about 20 different directions right now so i figured i would just share some of these thoughts with you!

Like I said in my last post, last weekend was just awesome! And this week has been good too! Work was ok, I had Friday off to go out to my sister's house to make cupcakes (a tradition of ours that i hope continues on for a long time!.. it is one of the not-so-many things that i ALWAYS look forward too) for my oldest nephew's 6th birthday party. OMG.. robby is 6 years old!.. where the heck does the time go! and when i was over there on Friday, robby read something to me.. i was like "you can read?!!" i was amazed! i have realized it before but not to that extent until then that time really is flying by! and this summer.. where did it go?? i remember when i was in grade school and summers seemed like they were just as long as the school year... what happened to that?!!! oh, and about a month ago i decided that i would take a couple classes this semester towards getting my Web Technology Certificate. i just want to get it over and done with so i can just add that extra bit to my resume. yeah, so my one class starts on tuesday of this week and my other one starts monday of next week.. yippee (*note major sarcasm!!) i have been out of school for a year now so this is gonna be hard getting back to! oh well, i think it will all help me further myself in the end! ok so thursday night i read an entire book! it was a great book if you like those stories about how much joy and love dogs bring to our lives but by the end you just need an entire box of tissues by your side! anyways the book was called Rescuing Sprite. Thank God i was home alone even though i was up in my room reading it that night because i was crying so hard that my dog could hear me downstairs and he came up to see what was wrong. i think the reason why this story touched me so much is because so much of it reminded me of my childhood dog, Dexter. it just brought back so many emotions that i haven't thought, felt or talked about in a long time. no dog could ever replace him, just like no dog will ever replace jake! they both will always have a special place in my heart! now, as you can tell by the "reading" section over to the left, i am reading another dog book calle Dog (seriously it is just called Dog!).. short so maybe i can finish another one in a day :) and next up on my list is a recently popular one: The Last Lecture. because of losing a dear friend/family member, i have gotten into reading books like this.. inspirational, making the most out of life and spending as much time as i can doing the things i love with the people i love! unfortunately it took a loss so sudden and so tragic for me to realize this but i am glad that i finally have and embraced it!

ok, i think that is enough randomness for today! now i am off to read for a bit and then hanging out with carol and sharing some awesome stories!!! :)

before i go, i would like to leave you with a quote i recently read... "The pain of loss is the price of love." No matter how much pain love can cause you in the end, never deny it cause there is no gift more precious!

I LOVE the Great NYS Fair!!

first of all, went to the Daughtry concert the first night of the fair (Thursday). awesome concert.. they totally rocked the house! but unfortunately not for too long... daughtry themselves were not on stage for very long... about 45 mins into it, they were off the stage and getting ready for their encore performance! that is the only thing that sucked about it.. maybe they will get to be longer the more CDs they come out with. and speaking of coming out with.. check out the pics below to see what chris daughtry came out on stage wearing!

how awesome is that.. A JOKER SHIRT! for those who don't know me, i am insane about The Dark Knight! one of the best movies that has been made in a long time! That and Transformers.. omg, don't even get me started! but yeah and my favorite part of the movie is The Joker. i can't even say Heath Ledger because it really wasn't him.. Heath Ledger actually transformed himself into The Joker. Heath Ledger was not in this movie.. The Joker was! but here are a couple other really cool pics of the shirt:

Watch out! He's coming after you!

Why so serious?

so there was the concert and i have gone to the fair both yesterday and today too. i have never had a better time at the fair than i've had in the past two days! without getting into details, even though there are def countless fun and interesting ones, hanging out with family and friends just made me so happy.. just what more could i ask for!! hey, we still have a week left of the fair.. i wonder what that will bring me ;-)

BELIEVE

ok so it is 5:02am.. can't sleep! listening to random music on a mix that i made and a song by Bon Jovi comes up on my playlist.. there are a lot of song on this playlist that explain everything that is going through my head right now, but this song by Bon Jovi battles a question that i am always asking myself... is there such a thing as FATE?... am i making the right decisions? am i spending too much or too little time on certain people in my life?... is this really where i'm supposed to be in my life?... every time i listen to this one, it helps me to BELIEVE a little bit more in FATE!... and YES we are all "right where [we're] supposed to be."

Welcome to Wherever You Are
Maybe we're different, but we're still the same
We all got the blood of Eden, running through our veins
I know sometimes it's hard for you to see
You come between just who you are and who you wanna be

If you feel alone, and lost and need a friend
Remember every new beginning, is some beginning's end

Welcome to wherever you are
This is your life, you made it this far
Welcome, you gotta believe
That right here right now, you're exactly where you're supposed to be
Welcome, to wherever you are

When everybody's in, and you're left out
And you feel your drowning, in a shadow of a doubt
Everyones a miracle in their own way
Just listen to yourself, not what other people say

When it seems you're lost, alone and feeling down
Remember everybody's different
Just take a look around

Welcome to wherever you are
This is your life, you made it this far
Welcome, you gotta believe
That right here right now, you're exactly where you're supposed to be
Welcome, to wherever you are

Be who you want to, be who you are
Everyones a hero, everyones a star

When you wanna give up, and your hearts about to break
Remember that you're perfect, God makes no mistakes

Welcome to wherever you are
This is your life, you made it this far
Welcome, you gotta believe
That right here right now, you're exactly where you're supposed to be
Welcome, to wherever you are

Also.. Happy Birthday Rob!! :)

Jim... Forever in Our Hearts!

it is really late right now on a saturday night but i just needed to write something...

today was a day of joy and sadness. you an awesome guy died on may 10th of this year. Jim became kind of a distant relative to us through marriage many years ago but with my family, distance in the family tree doesn't really matter much because we are all so close (like one family friend says.. we "travel in packs!" LOL :) anyways, Jim was just a great guy and he is being missed by so many, especially his wife and two young sons. today was the 1st annual golf tournament that is being played in honor of his memory. and we are having a fundraiser in october to help raise money for his wife and boys. because so much is going on to honor Jim's memory, everything is still so fresh in my mind.

what would have been im's 36th birthday was last sunday and we went over to my sisters house to celebrate his memory, but i couldn't help but think when i was telling a friend that "it is Jim's birthday so we are going over to my sister's house" that Jim would actually be there. in spirit, of course he was there and he will forever be with us in our hearts and in everything we do, but anyone who has lost a loved one can vouch for me when i say.. it is just not the same! i was looking at pictures today of Jim and sure the pictures are great and the memories are priceless but it just saddens me that those are all we have left of him. again i wouldn't trade my memories of him or my family or my friends for anything but i still just find it hard to believe that
he is really gone.

the thing that gives me the greatest joy out of such a tragic thing is seeing all the people who love Jim coming together to make the fundraiser an amazing success. even people who did not know Jim or any of his friends and family want to help and are asking what they can do. this is just incredible. i don't think i've ever seen anything like it and i am very proud to be part of such a wonderful thing!

if you want to know more, please visit the website that was set up for the fundraiser:
www.JimDelaneyMemorialFund.com

if you can come to the fundraiser on october 5th at the new york state fairgrounds in syracuse, ny, please do! thanks!

and jim..... i hope you know you will forever be in our hearts just as we all know that you will forever be looking down on us from the most perfect cloud up in heaven. love and miss you always!
