Hello! My name is Sparkles. I am a HUGE NY Yankees fan!!! I have learned that life is short so make the most out of the time you have! So what can you find me doing most of the time.. I love to hang out with my friends and my family- making lots of memories that will last a lifetime.. this is my #1!! I love spending time at camp- BBQs, boat rides, bonfires, etc. Love going to the movies or relaxing at home with a DVD, curling up at night and reading, rocking out in my car to my favorite music! I love all kinds of music, so here are a few of my favorites.
so i saw two movies last night- THE HITCHER and ALPHA DOG. i know i said that i was gonna probably wait to see ALPHA DOG when it comes out on dvd but my friend and i were kinda afraid to drive home after we watched THE HITCHER so we decided to stay for another movie and since ALPHA DOG was leaving the theater on thursday, we decided to see that.
ok, THE HITCHER started at 8:00 and that was so unbelievable and overexaggerated, but it still scared the crap out of me. i must have jumped at least 20 times during the movie cause things just kept popping out of nowhere. it was so grusome too. lets just say the first image in the movie was a rabbit getting ran over by a car. nassssty!!! there were a lot of other nasties too. SOPHIA BUSH is still a great actress though. her boyfriend in the movie was no one i have ever seen before- his name is ZACHARY KNIGHTON. kinda cute ;)
anyways, we got out of that movie at about 9:45 then we watched ALPHA DOG at 10:15. now that was a good movie but considering that it is a true story- a little psychotic! i was just sitting there thinking the whole time "what in the world are these people thinking?!!!" it was not what i expected. JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE's was absolutely hilarious but then you hate him by the end of the movie. i wasn't into all the tattoos though. i did not like the ending but they are telling a true story so there is nothing they could do about that. even so, i really liked it and i would definitely recommend it- 2 thumbs up!!
anyways we got out of ALPHA DOG at exactly 12:23 lol and then went home and passed out in bed- no nightmares :)
alright i gotta go to bed right now too or i will never get up for school in the morning (and that wouldn't be a good thing!) talk to you all later!
hi everyone! i have been having a lot of problems with my internet service- i have been offline all weekend and can i just tell you that i am lost w/o the internet. i know that's pretty bad, but oh well. anyways, i just got it back up and running tonight. so that is how my weekend started and then on friday i went to the internet for that intership that i have been talking about. the interview went really well- he showed me some of the projects that he would have me doing and they seemed very interesting and i believe that i would learn a lot, but i had to be honest with the guy that i didn't think i would have time to do it this semester. although he is going to try and find another student for this semester he said that i should get back in touch with him at the end of the semester and that he may consider another internship during the summer or in the fall. so anyways, i just emailed him and thanked him for the opportunity. that was friday and then on saturday i went to work at 11:00 in the morning and i was feeling fine but then at about 1:00 i started feeling sick. i suffered through about another hour and a half and finally went downstairs and asked if i could go home. of course they let me go home but before they did, one of my coworkers asked me what was wrong. i told her that i had a really bad headache (which was basically caused by this person) and that although i was freezing, my forehead was burning up. so then this person said "oh i just wanted to make sure it is nothing that we could catch." i just wanted to scream at that point. doesn't anyone have any consideration?!!! i know if it was someone else who was sick i would just say "i'm sorry and i hope you feel better." anyways i came home and just rested for a little while and then i was fine. when i was home resting on saturday night i watched THE FAMILY STONE. that was a pretty good movie. it is full of great actors including DIANE KEATON, RACHEL McADAMS, LUKE WILSON, SARAH JESSICA PARKER, CLAIRE DANES and DERMOT MULRONEY. it was very funny at some points and very sad at others. it was kind of weird but i would definitely recommend it. then last night i went to see CATCH AND RELEASE in the theater. that was also a great movie- it was not what i though it would be but it was very good. there was someone in this movie that i thought was butt ugly at first but as the movie went on he became cuter and cuter cause his character became sweeter and sweeter. the actor who plays the part i am talking about is TIMOTHY OLYPHANT. i'll let you check him out. tomorrow night i hope to go see THE HITCHER with SOPHIA BUSH. she is such a great actress. she plays on one of my favorite shows- ONE TREE HILL. i'll let you know how it is. i still have yet to see ALPHA DOG. i have been wanting to see it for a while now, but haven't gotten the chance. i have heard it was good though. that just might be one that i don't see until it comes out on dvd- we'll see! anyways, gotta be getting to bed. 6 am wake up call tomorrow! yay!! :P talk to you all later!

hi everyone! just wanted to tell you about some new movie releases. first of all, i didn't even realize it until just now, but THE PRESTIGE came out on dvd on saturday. i am going to the store right after i am done to buy it. i can't wait to watch it again cause i missed "something" at the very end of the movie that a couple people told me about. plus i can't wait to see CHRISTIAN BALE in that movie again too!! another release is THE GUARDIAN with ASHTON KUTCHER and KEVIN COSTNER. i will be buying that one tonight too!! ASHTON looked incredibly good in this movie and the movie was really good too. the next upcoming release that i am looking forward to is THE DEPARTED. like many people, i keep saying that this movie and its actors, including LEONARDO DICAPRIO and MARK WAHLBERG, have to win some awards. this was an amazing movie!

ok, so i am just getting back from the store and i feel like a real idiot... i was thinking that THE PRESTIGE came out on 1/20/07, but actually it comes out on 2/20/07. ok so i didn't get that but i did get THE GUARDIAN. i was gonna ask the family if they wanted to watch it when i got home but they were already watching the state of the union address. oh well... i got some reading to do for school anyways- fun, fun, fun!!! anyways, i better get doing that so i will get back to you later.
i honestly did not think that there was gonna be a part 2 to this but lets just say that my second day of classes started out just as bad as the first:
don't know if i ever mentioned this before but i am handicapped and in a wheelchair. this wouldn't be much of a problem but guess what- the elevator was broken when i got to school. just lovely!!! it was fate that i got there early to print out an assignment so i could start getting people working on it early. i was expecting to miss my whole first class but ended up just missing about 20 minutes of it. i didn't miss anything, in other words.
then i saw my professor in the hallway after class and i turned down the internship. i felt bad, but i caught him pretty off guard. then when i was at work yesterday, i found that he emailed me asking me to reconsider (atleast meet with his friend- who i would be working for- and check out the office- which by the way is NOT handicpped accessible since it is a historical building, but the guy would get a temporary ramp put up) because he thinks that his friend and i would be a perfect fit. well, i emailed him back to say that i would atleast meet his friend and check out the office. we'll see how things go. he will be out of town this whole week and i will not meet with him till the following week. i'll keep you posted!
next up, i just want to wish SU good luck in their basketball game today- i will be wearing my SU gear!!! GO ORANGE!!! (PS- SU is doing great but we miss you G-MAC!)
unfortunately i have not seen any new movies but it is kinda weird considering the beginning of my last post that BILLY MADISON was on tv last night. i love that movie! i think it was my first ADAM SANDLER movie that i saw and i just fell in love with him. the guy is absolutely hilarious. he is coming out with a pretty sad movie though- it is called REIGN OVER ME. it doesn't come out for a while- the release date is march 23. i really want to see it. for the other side of sandler, a friend from work gave me a comedy mix of ADAM SANDLER and GEORGE CARLIN. i haven't listened to any of the carlin stuff yet but sandler is a riot :-) i can't wait to listen to the rest! here is a track listing of what is on the mix:

ok, so i definitely did not start the semester on the right foot. well, first of all- because of the weather here around cny, our roadrunner connection stopped working along with my wireless for my laptop. so i was on the phone with tech support for both roadrunner and linksys till about 11:00 last night. then i had to get up at 6:00 this morning in order to be at school at 8:30. then when i got there, i had trouble logging on to the school network because my password expired. can i just tell you that i had a rough day!!!
the one good thing that i has happened is that i was offered an opportunity to do an internship suring the spring semester by one of my professors. i was very excited about up until i went to my classes today. i think i am gonna have a crazy enough semester between going full-time including doing a honor's project at one school, part-time at another and keeping up with my part-time job without doing the internship. i would really like to do it but i just don't think i will have time and actually have somewhat of a social life. i think i will maybe try to do an internship over the summer when things aren't so hectic and crazy.

ok, so i watched AMERICAN PSYCHO and can i tell you that they could not have chosen a better title. i don't think i will ever look at CHRISTIAN BALE the same way again after seeing that movie. not too sure of how it all came together in the end- did he just imagine doing all those crazy things? and why did the lawyer not know Bateman by that name? anyone who can clarify these things for me, please do! there is an AMERICAN PSYCHO 2 that i am not sure if i want to watch, but i think MILA KUNIS (jackie from THAT 70S SHOW) is the main character and Bateman is dead. MILA KUNIS plays one of Bateman's surviving victims and she now begins to go on a killing spree. i have this at home, but the thing is deciding whetheri want to watch it or not. we'll see! i got some bad news- i start back up with school on tuesday :( ahhhhhhhhh!!! this semester is not gonna be fun. although i am only taking 3 classes at lemoyne, i am also doing an honors project, taking a course at occ, working a part time job, and i might do a part time internship. probably won't have as much time to do fun stuff like this unfortunately. i will try and post whenever i can though. gotta get going! check back in later!

let's see... what other fun videos can i share with you? hmmm.................. ok- found one! this one is from BOY MEETS WORLD (another one of my favorite shows!). it takes a little while to get into, but make sure you watch until the end. i promise you will NOT be disappointed! (FOR ANYONE WHO WATCHES BOY MEETS WORLD- WATCH MR. FINNEY :) here is another fun one that i found on youtube.com. it is a tribute to one of the greatest su basketball players- GMAC!!! i love this video not only cause i love the song that the slide show is set to (by the way, it is REMEMBER THE NAME by FORT MINOR), but it starts with that really intense press conference with boeheim after he found out that someone called gmac overrated- ha, yeah right!!! by the way, i actually bought one of the overrated shirts that they made after this all happened. for those who don't know what i am talking about, here is a pic of gmac wearing it (please click it to see it it full-size). and here is the slide show too (beware boeheim get pretty pissed off and although they beep out the "bad" words, you totally know what is being said- hehe!!) i thought this was so great though :) enjoy

MATTHEW FOX's character was my favorite and he played the part the best anyone could. he was amazing in this movie! next up on my movie must-see list is AMERICAN PSYCHO with CHRISTIAN BALE. this was recommended by a friend. she said it was good but CHRISTIAN BALE's character is, for lack of a better word, psychotic- i know i shouldn't be surprised because of the title of the movie but i am just a little weary about it. i hope to watch it friday maybe so i'll let you all know what i think. this is really random, but did anyone see DEREK JETER on REGIS AND KELLY recently? not sure what the date was but it was hilarious! i love REGIS AND KELLY to begin with but to have DEREK JETER on the show just takes the cake! REGIS is so funny. he was so excited to have JETER on the show- he is obsessed with the YANKEES like me! REGIS even wore cufflinks! anyways they talked about the previous season, his vacation in europe, "female companionship", his new cologne- that was the funniest part!, and a how REGIS gave JETER a kiss on the cheek one time to which JETER laughed and replied, "you're given too much information out." here is a little clip:
