i went to see the new ADAM SANDLER movie, REIGN OVER ME, last night. it was not what i was expecting. considering the plot of the movie (ADAM SANDLER's character's family- wife and three daughters- died on one of the planes that crashed into the world trade center on 9/11), i thought it was gonna be a really solemn movie, but it wasn't. it was actually really funny. yeah the main plot was sad but mostly everything else was hilarious. ADAM SANDLER came out with some great lines in this movie just like all of his other movies.

it is so sad how one crazy event can cause so much pain and suffering for so many people- an entire country even. i couldn't imagine if i had lost someone i care about in that way. ADAM SANDLER's character just became completely disconnected from the world, especially from the people who knew his wife and daughters. that is why he became such good friends with his old college roommate (DON CHEADLE's character)- he never knew his friends family.

finally, i haven't decided if i liked the ending of the movie yet. in some ways i did like it, but i had a picture in my head of how it was "supposed" to end and it didn't end the way i pictured. overall, i would give it 3 out of 5 stars and i would have to say that it is more of a rental-type movie rather than going to see it in the theaters.
