the purpose of this post is simply to get my mind off of a presentation that i have to make at 4:00 today. i am really nervous.
the yankees played boston last night and lost but again arod hit 2 home runs. this guy has a streak going for him that no one has seen before in baseball. it is amazing how great he has been doing. this means he has not had a hitless game yet *knock on wood* and he is up to 12 home runs in only 15 games. he is mlb leader right now in home runs and RBIs; he is also in 5th place for the numbe of hits for all of the major league with 23 hits and to have over 50% of you hits be homers- again amazing!!! these are some pretty nice stats too:
- Batting AVG: .371
- OnBase %: .431
- Slugging %: 1.048 (1st place in mlb)
- 20 runs (again, 1st place in mlb)
i was excited for baseball to start up again this spring but i am even more excited now that arod is doing so well. now when there is a game on, i just want to stay home, but i do decide to go out, it is to tullys or some other sports bar where i know that the game will be on. i am horrible i know! i just started watching ball games when i was at home but in a hospital bed when i was like 13- this was when tino, o'neill and scott brocious were playing on the team and when jeter and posada were just starting their careers- yeah i know, a long time ago! anyways, my dad had the games on all the time so basically i just started watching them with him. ever since then, i have just had this obsession with them. then when arod came in 2004, i was at first like who is this "arod" character and what is the big hype about him (cause i didn't know anything about him at that point)??? then i just started thinking he was really cute and fell in love- hehe!! my big obsession started when i found out that a friend of mine from work loved the yankees too! for bdays and xmas we always bought each other yankees stuff. this year, she actually bought me a book and while i was opening it she said that it was the first book that i will ever read to my children. i was like what??? considering that i am nowhere near a serious relationship with anyone or thinking about having any kids at this point. hear is what i unwrapped-
i love her!!! she knows me so well :) when i go home from dinner with her, of course the first thing i did was read the book. it is so cute and the illustrations are so funny. i mean look at the fron cover- you can tell who each player is even without the name but because they are purposely somewhat distorted, it makes them really funny.
well i guess that is enough. writing all this did the trick though- for a while there i didn't think about my presentation, but back to worrying now :) hope everyone has a great weekend!
